Ola Maciejewska

Born in Poland, Ola Maciejewska is a choreographer and performer who lives and works in Paris and the Netherlands. At the age of eight years she decided to move out from her hometown to a rural city of Bytom to begin dance education at National Ballet School, which she graduated with distinction in 2000. The same year she left Poland and moved to the Netherlands to continue dance education at Rotterdam Dance Academy. She graduated in 2004 and begin to work as a dancer and performer in works of Bruno Listopad / PT, Nicola Unger / DE, Philippe Quesne / FR, and Bojan Djordjev / SR. In the meanwhile, while working for other artists, she continued to study dance theory and dance dramaturgy at University of Utrecht, and in 2012 she obtained her MA degree from Contemporary Theatre and Dance Studies. Along the theoretical program at the university she initiated Loie Fuller: Research (2011), that has been presented in France for the Opening of CND Pantin in 2015, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, Poland and several venues in Holland. TEKTON it’s her choreographic debut together with a short dance film COSMOPOL that premiered in November of 2014 in Geneva at Theatre de l'Usine and has been presented at Rotterdamse Schouwburg, Actoral Festival in Marseille, and Bâtard Festival in Brussels. In the fall 2015 Ola Maciejewska premiered BOMBYX MORI in Paris at la Menagerie de verre in the framework of the Festival Les Inaccoutumés.
